The Vantage integration with Amazon’s Alexa® allows easy communication between the Vantage InFusionTM lighting control systemand the Alexa Echo® or Dot®. Vantage has incorporated an Alexa interface into the system. Voice commands to Vantage are now available, making the system even more easy to use. Users can command lights, thermostats, and scenes in this first release. Future developments will enhance the integration between the Vantage system and Alexa (blinds, groups, RGB, fan control, audio, etc.)

Describe the benefits that your product provides to the integrator.

The integration allows installers to offer added features within the Vantage system that provides greater user convenience. Users that have an Amazon Alexa-enabled device, like the Echo Dot, can now enable this “Vantage Skill” from the skills library. Once enabled, the dealer (installer) can install a gateway (Vantage-AlexaGW) that will enable the InFusion Controller to communicate with the Vantage cloud service for Alexa. The registered installer can now add light and thermostat names on the configuration webpage and link these items and scenes with the InFusion system.

Describe the benefits that your product provides to the end user.

The integration provides convenience with voice command of the Vantage system. Current commands include lights, thermostats, and predefined scenes. Coming home, hands full of groceries, will now be simplified by invoking a vocal command like “Alexa, tell Vantage I’m home!” Going to bed can be as easy as saying “Alexa, tell Vantage we’re going to sleep.” It also provides the benefit of customization and control. End users can also use the configuration webpage to change devices’ names, in case a room changes destination (i.e. bedroom becomes guest room) or a device like an existing thermostat is installed into another room.
