Describe your product's design and / or technological innovation.
Barco’s family of narrow-bezel LCD video walls couple the traditional advantages of tiled LCD video walls – excellent image quality, minimum space requirement, and an advantageous price setting – with innovations to ensure availability and optimize Total Cost of Ownership (TCO). The new OverView HVD5521 now joins this portfolio, with a screen diagonal of 55” and a brightness of 700 cd/m². Its extremely narrow total bezel width of only 1.8 mm (measured between screens) enhances the visual consistency of the video wall, making it better suited for content that spans multiple displays.
Describe the benefits that your product provides to the integrator.
The new OverView HVD5521 was designed for use in critical environments. This means that optimizing the uptime was the key consideration in all design decisions. In order to facilitate (and minimize) calibration and installation efforts, Barco has developed Sense X, its unique automatic calibration system. Sense X continuously measures and adjusts the color and brightness levels of both the individual panels and the entire video wall. Manual calibration is therefore never needed: even the initial calibration can be done with a push of a button. Furthermore, the optional remote and redundant power supply makes maintenance a lot easier. When unit’s power supply fails, a spare module automatically takes over so there is no downtime of the system. And because the power supply is located in an external location, maintenance is merely a matter of taking one unit out and replacing it with another.
Describe the benefits that your product provides to the end user.
Barco’s OverView HVD5521 tiled LCD video wall comes with the narrowest bezel on the market today. With a total bezel width of only 1.8 mm/0.07 inch, the canvas knows only a very limited interruption. This is particularly important when displaying content that spans multiple displays in a tiled LCD video wall, and highly contributes to better viewing ergonomics for the operators. The excellent image quality, high brightness of 700 cd/m², and good contrast ratio contribute to more viewing comfort. Furthermore, Barco’s LCD video walls are designed for use in critical environments, with high reliability, low TCO and minimal maintenance needs. The unique Sense X brightness and color calibration system, automatically balances the video wall at any time, avoiding the need for expensive and time-consuming manual calibration. This not only optimizes uptime, but also contributes to the wall’s low TCO. The optional redundant power supply automatically switches to a new unit if one fails, eliminating downtime due to power supply failure. Because the power supply is located remotely, power supply maintenance can be done without disturbing the operations.
